Alexander has a cumulative trading and a portfolio management experience in excess of 20 years. He started his career in finance in 1991 as a Eurobond trader with the Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of the USSR (Vnesheconombank), the only institution at the time appointed to manage the country’s “excess cash balances” by investing them across international capital markets. He was promoted from a junior trader to co-manage the multi-currency Eurobond portfolio in fixed income instruments for the bank.
In 1995, he joined the private investment company ICFI - Moscow Partners, where he was in charge of the firm’s fixed income Eurobond portfolio. He also supervised operations of its institutional sales desk and co-managed investment accounts for the firm’s clients.
In 1997, Alexander joined Schildershoven to lead the company securities business since then. His multiple job functions include business development, supervision of the firm’s daily operations, assessment of investment opportunities, VIP client relationships, product and resource management, quality control, to name a few. Under his leadership the firm has grown from a proprietary fund into a global investment platform dedicated to providing services to professional investors worldwide.
